How much of the global excess CO₂ can we store in this way?

Research suggests that ERW can permanently lock away up to 4 Billion tonnes of carbon dioxide annually, if scaled. 

In the UK alone, recent research using large-scale models shows that ERW could remove up to 30 million tonnes of CO2 per year. This represents around 45% of the country’s annual carbon removal requirements and makes a substantial dent in global carbon removal efforts.
